Global Training Academy Launched
28 October 2008
Technical staffing specialists Talascend today announced the establishment of the Talascend Training academy in Troy, Michigan.
The Academy will provide full cross training to experienced engineers in the automotive sector, to equip them for careers in other engineering industries.
"The Academy will use a crisis in one industry to solve a crisis in another," said Academy President Jason Dawson.
"While the Oil & Gas industry struggles to find the engineering staff it needs to fill critical vacancies on projects, talented and experienced engineers are without opportunities in the automotive sector. With the right training, these engineers can play a vital part in moving both industries forward."
Classes will open at the Academy in January 2009 with massive interest expected from the Detroit automotive engineering community. Training programs are extensive and cover the history, culture, working practices and specific software requirements of target industries.
Talascend CEO Ron Wood is optimistic that both industries have the commitment and forethought to embrace the groundbreaking idea.
"Like any new initiative, we need our community to have the vision to see the possibilities in front of us," he said.
"To solve the issues we all face, we need creative solutions. We must demonstrate a belief in our industry's potential to overcome the imbalance that threatens it."
